Tastes very, very good

Very good food! The portion of "butter chicken" was enough for 2 people. The naan and garlic naan are amazing!

A very friendly team, which always tries to please the guests. We have often been guests here, have celebrated a few birthdays there and so far have always gone home happy. There is something for everyone who likes exotic cuisine. A good, clear selection of dishes, for vegetarians and vegans, but of course also for those who prefer meat. I can understand very well that the owners are not looking for another location in Traunstein, because the rental prices here are unjustifiably high. Today, for the first time since the exit restrictions, we had food "to go" and noticed how much we missed the delicious dishes 🥰

Now a very good restaurant again :) They had a time when the food was unfortunately only mediocre .. at least for my taste .. However, I lived in Munich, where there were many Indian restaurants .. Fortunately, the tide has turned ... the food is delicious. Staff very nice, delivery is always very fast. I hope the Indian will stay with Traunstein for a long time.

Proper Indian food

Visited several times, the service was always friendly, but the owner is sometimes unfriendly, the food often tastes fresh and tasty.

The waiter should put on the face mask correctly and pay attention to the coronavirus. In big cities like Berlin, Munich, etc. the food tastes different. All sauces taste the same with you. Tip: Please add chopped onions and tomatoes to the sauce.

Great atmosphere, the food tastes very good, there are large portions, the waiters are very attentive and very, very friendly. 0.5 star deduction for the prices, they are not really high, but not cheap either. One or two euros less per dish would seem more appropriate to me. Another 0.5 star deduction for the waiters to speak extremely quietly and a little indistinctly. But all in all really recommendable!

We had planned for some time to go Indian food in Traunstein and have now implemented it, as we have eaten very delicious Indian on holiday. If you have never eaten Indian and can not make a comparison, the food here tastes very good! But if you have been to Indian food in India or in a world metropolis, it will not taste so good here. The ambience in the interior / basement is appealing, but for some taste a bit too dusky and unfortunately only accessible via a staircase. Outside, unfortunately, there are only very few seats and these are also very close together, so you understand the conversation from the neighbor very well. However, the selection on the menu is very good and the portions large enough. However, the service staff could be a bit more attentive. The prices are also not without, you can afford this every week or every 2 weeks with a normal employee income. CONCLUSION: Good but not cheap Indian food in a basement (cellar) restaurant. Recommendation to the owner ... maybe. to look for a new location in Traunstein (not basement).

The visit to the Maharaja my second time in an Indian restaurant. The food was very tasty, but the portion was a little smaller than expected - a dessert was made for that. The main course (see photos) was twice No. 104 Murgh Nilgiri (tender chicken with spinach, coriander leaves, in oriental herb sauce with coconut milk) and once No. 109 Butter Chicken (tender chicken in butter and tomato sauce). The dessert was No. 143 Gulab Jamun (balls of milk and curd cheese baked in honey) - very tasty! The waitresses are courteous and quick - all in all you can recommend the restaurant! I cannot say anything about the decoration in the shop area, since we were sitting outside.
